To sum up the semester we have had a great time hanging out together.  We had a lot of problems but never gave up on trying to improve and pivot our ideas. We have made out final video and we think its BAD ASS, and will be continuing to sell our shirts this week as well as continuing to donate to the American Red Cross

So after careful consideration, we have decided to stop producing the ladder ball sets, due in most part because there is only 1 football game left.  We have decided to sells "Oh Sandy" shirts and donate some of our profits to The Red Cross.  We feel that there is a market for this because of all the devastation caused by the storm, and the timeliness of all of this.  We will be conducting many customer summaries this weekend to see if there truly is a market for our product.

Success! So this past weekend was JMU's Homecoming game...so of course we targeted the older alumni.  We had three ladder ball sets that we had not sold from previous football games, so our goal was to sell all three.  As a group we came together and contemplated what the reason was that we did not have the sales that we projected; and collectively we found that marketing was our biggest problem. We all decided to gain a little nerve and go out and market hard, directly talking to customers and interacting with them.  Wouldn't you know it, it worked!  After setting up the ladder ball sets, we walked around with our sign and barely made it 200 yards from our cars, and sold all three sets in less than 15 minutes.  We talked to a JMU alum and her husband who were both entrepreneurs and they took to us immediately and gave us great feedback on our product as well as pointers for our future.  All in all, we had a great week and with our three sales, we have now sold 5 total sets for a profit of $225.

As we stated in our last post, we were searching for a way to cover the ladder ball sets that would be more durable, but at the same time allow for us to continue to put different colors on the sets.  After looking at a few options, we decided to try and use duct tape as a covering.  We found that it looks not much different than painting them, and more importantly it was cheaper and less time consuming which was a huge plus.  Another aspect that helped us to believe in this method is that we sold one to a customer who loved the JMU colored duct tape.

We finished the first MVP and sold it at the family weekend football game. The family that bought our product liked that it was JMU colors and that they could show off their JMU pride. However we discovered that the paint we used chipped off when playing the game and we are currently trying to find a solution to this.
